This stack represents one year of daily Bob the Squirrel strips (not including Sunday panels). The work involved in getting to this stack makes me think it should be much taller. But, it isn’t. Lezley and I were married in this stack. Lauren got her black belt in this stack. Our backyard was torn up by a tornado and we lost a very large tree in this stack. We narrowly missed disaster in this stack. There’s a lot of life in this stack.
The next week of strips on my drawing board will begin the 2015 Bob the Squirrel season. When those are finished, I will clean this milk crate out and start an entirely new stack… one that will be just as much work, probably just as high and full of just as much life as all the other 12 stacks.
It’s a weird sensation to have… to feel accomplished and clueless at the same time.
Here’s to the next stack.
Hopefully many, many more stacks, Bob brings a smile to me each day……well not always a smile, but knowing that life goes on and I will release another orphan or injured squirrel the strips make me happy to turn on the computer each day.
